Happy birthday to ME!

Kimberly K. Parker

I’m so happy and blessed to celebrate another year of life! The past 365 days have certainly helped me to become wiser, stronger, and more determined to keep it moving.

For those who have supported and followed me over the past 10 plus years, you know I celebrate my birthday all year long. This time around, it’s with an educational twist. I’m going to celebrate my birthday all year long by teaching 2017 vocabulary by 2017!  This is how I Vocabulize and here’s why:

  1. I love to teach!
  2. I love words!
  3. I love a good challenge!
  4. I want as many people as possible to learn as many new words as possible!

It’s really that simple.

In honor of Women’s History Month, every word I teach during the month of March will relate to great women in history. Next month, I’ll introduce a new theme and a new set of words.

I will use all of my social media outlets to teach these words on any given day, so stay tuned. In case you don’t know, here’s how we can remain connected:

  1. Facebook @kkparkerintl
  2. Twitter @kimberlykparker
  3. Pinterest @kkparkerintl
  4. Periscope @kkparkerintl
  5. Instagram @Kimberly K. Parker
  6. YouTube @Kimberly K. Parker

Now that I’ve taken care of all the details, let’s begin our vocabulary lesson for today. These words are in honor of the one and only Madam C.J. Walker. Madam C.J. Walker, born Sarah Breedlove, created specialized hair products for African-American hair and was one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire. For more information and a great video about her, click this link.

  1. Sisterhood: bond; unity
  2. Respect: appreciation; dignity.
  3. Matriarch: queen; mother.
  4. Powerful: influential; strong.
  5. Morals: standards; integrity.
  6. Amiable: charming
  7. Decorous: elegant

Now that you know seven new words, practice using them in sentences or pay it forward and teach someone else.  Better yet, create a two minute video of yourself, a youngster, or someone you know using each of these words in a sentence. Then, send your video to me ASAP at connect@kimberlykparker.com. I’m going to choose the top five videos and share it on my various social media pages and my website.

The star in you awaits its unleashing! It’s time to Vocabulize. Go for it!
