Meet the authors! The Write On Book Publishing Experience proudly launched “The Middle School Mastermind Project” in January 2016. This project is a creative writing experience fostering the belief that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. The project consists of four weekly one-hour virtual sessions peppered by original and fun writing exercises that will enable the young writers to develop strong writing skills while having fun during the process.

This year, we are pleased to have Kalani, Kayla, Malea, Zaniyah (not pictured), and Zariah (not pictured) in our mastermind group. The girls, ages 10 to 12, will write a book entitled The Secret Guide to Middle School: Tips, Rules, and Advice for Success scheduled to be released in spring 2016. Through various styles of poetry, letters, and personal interviews, they will gain and share insight on just what it means to be a middle school student in today’s society. The collaboration teaches the girls team-building skills, idea sharing, and what it means to work towards the same goal. As the book develops, we will post updates to this page, so please stay tuned.

This project will be the seventh collaborative book under the Write on Book Publishing Experience. Established in 2011, Kimberly K. Parker has helped over 25 children, including students from Eastern High School in Washington, DC, become published authors. Additionally, she has helped adults publish books as well.  To learn more about the books written and published to date, click here.
